This IOSH Certified five-day course provides essential knowledge for those managing or overseeing safety in the construction industry.

Course Objectives

On completion of the course participants should be able to:

Project Supervisor Construction Stage Course (IOSH)

Course Details

The aim of this course is to equip candidates with the knowledge to fully understand the legal responsibilities of the PSCS role and guidance on how they might fulfil this role in line with legislation and best practice

Whom Is This Course Intended For?

This course is intended for those who will be involved at the Project Supervisor Construction Stage or anyone who wishes to get an appreciation of the role and its function.

Course Objectives

On completion of the course participants will be able to:

▪ Appreciate whom the key duty holders are as defined within the legislation and how they fulfil their roles.

▪ Understand the role and legal responsibilities of the PSCS.

▪ Understand the requirements for preparing and contributing to the Safety File.

▪ Recognise the need for measuring performance and understand the principles for active and reactive monitoring.

▪ Apply risk controls, reduction and the principles of prevention.

▪ Be able to complete a risk assessment and make recommendations for risk controls and safe systems of work.

▪ Identify and mitigate construction-specific hazards.

▪ Understand the need for and contents of a construction safety plan.

Assessment

Participants complete a written exam.

Accreditation

On successful completion of the exam, participants will be awarded the IOSH PSCS Certificate.
